Scripture:
Titus 1:1 . . . for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness.
Titus 1:16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny Him.
Observation:
This chapter is about the connection between doctrine and committed people of faith with godliness of life.
Application:
God isn't looking for me to say all the right things with my mouth. He is looking at my attitude and my actions.
Godliness isn't achieved just by knowing what to do. It comes by living out what I truly believe. My actions are a true reflection of what I believe. If I truly know God my actions will demonstrate that knowledge and therefore lead to a life of godliness. People may doubt what I say, but they will always believe what I do.
Prayer:
Father, may my words and actions always be a reflection of who You are. Help me to always put into action what I know to be true. Help me know You--the One who is the truth. Help my focus be on You so I can remember what my goal is and walk it out in each and every area of my life. Amen.
Barb, loved the line "People may doubt what I say, but they will always believe what I do." Great way to say it like it is!
