Scripture:

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Observation:

I read this and realized that its "through our knowledge of Him" that I get EVERYTHING I need for my life and godliness.

Application:

I have been in places of my life where it was the prayers of my friends or how much counseling I received that kept me headed in the right direction. I was encouraged to stay close to God and ask Him for guidance, but it didn't sink in until I read this scripture of how to do that exactly. My knowledge of Him is what I need to increase. Whether it be through prayer or through reading or through just talking about Him or whatever....it just needs to increase. Not just pray, "Oh Lord my God, help me today"...but more like, "Oh Lord my God, show me more of You so that I can grow in my knowledge and understanding of who You are."

Prayer:

More of You Lord and less of me. I desire to learn the details of You. Teach me, God. Open my mind and heart to take in what You have to tell me about You, and to appreciate the depth of love You desire with me. I desire to love and know You better than any fleshly thing that I can touch. I love You, Lord. Amen.

    Crystal, have never noticed that insight in this scripture before! That is AWESOME! I will be putting this in my "life arsenal"!!
