Scripture:

John 6:26-27 Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."

Observation:

The people were treating Jesus like a supermarket. They were seeking Him to have their physical needs met only. Kind of like cats that only love people when they are being feed and then disappear for the rest of their existence.

Application:

The Father desires to have an intimate relationship with me. A relationship of a husband and wife rather than grocer and patron. He wants to share His heart's desires with me in such a way that the very essence of life is shared between us. When I seek the Lord, my heart should reciprocate this desire.

Prayer:

Father, I want to share life with You. My flesh hinders me from the depth of relationship that You desire. Create in me a heart that seeks You and desires to know You intimately.
