Scripture:

John 12:35-36 Then Jesus told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before the darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light."

Observation:

Jesus was telling the crowd that He will soon be gone, and that they should pay attention while He was still there. He is the light in the darkness. "Put your trust in the light" (put your trust in Him) so that when He is gone we may become "lights" to others.

Application:

In my daily life - do I illuminate the pathway to God? My daily life should be a walk with God, reading His Word, prayer, so that I radiate His presence - becoming a "light" in the darkness. How often do I fall short?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your tender compassion; for all the times I fall short, You do not abandon me. Help me to follow Your ways, giving compassion and forgiveness as You have given me.
