Scripture:
Revelation 13:10 ...This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
Observation:
Even though I believe this is talking about the people that come to Christ after the rapture, which I plan on being a part of (the rapture, that is), I still feel it is a good word for me today. Paul says it many times in his books, too.... patient endurance and faithfulness. These are still so hard for me to get, let alone possess them in the face of horrifying times like it describes in this chapter.
Faithfulness: Staying true to Christ, who He is, and what He stands for. Standing up for Him. Believing. Getting to know Him. Loving.
Patient Endurance: Sticking with it. Waiting on Him. Never wavering. Fighting. Being disciplined.
Application:
When I break it down, these are things in which I can grow and stretch myself to be better. I want to be disciplined enough to know what it's like to go through a trial with patient endurance. The strength that takes is unstoppable. Being faithful to the creator of the Universe is always going to be a good idea, too!
Prayer:
Mighty God, Sovereign Lord, take my will and make it Your own. Break down the parts of me that You don't like and make them into the character of Your Son. Help me to strive for faithfulness like I have never known before. The kind of life-stopping faithfulness, that nothing else matters but Your will for my life. Keep my focus on that alone. Help me fight with patience, waiting on You to do Your part in the path I'm on and staying strong with your Word hidden in my heart. Thank You, Lord. I love You.
Heard your heart, Brook. Loved the word you gave today. "...nothing else matters but Your will for my life." Aaaahhhh...so true.
