Scripture:
Luke 10:21, Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to the children. Yes, Father, for this was Your good pleasure.
Observation:
Jesus was full of the joy of the Lord and was praising His Father. It appears here that just because you're smart does not mean you know the ways of God. All have access to Him.
Application:
The Truth is available to everyone. That is something to praise God about! I remember when I was very young, I looked to my parents for everything. I believed what they said. I loved them (still do), wanted to be with them, and I trusted them. That is how God wants me to feel about Him. God is not opposed to someone being very wise; He's opposed to someone being wise in one's own eyes.
Prayer:
Lord God, I thank You that anyone can hear from You and we have equal access to You, no matter where we are. Help me to stay focused on You and Your Word, and not to become prideful. Thank You, Lord. Amen
Awesome blog, Jean! So right on! Who's smart compared to God anyway? :)
