Scripture:
Luke 6:48-49 48 He is like a man which built an house and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it; for it was found upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Observation:
Jesus was speaking to His disciples and a great multitude of people, about the way we should live. And in these two verses, Jesus is telling us that we need to have faith in God and all that He is. Learn His word and live it out. If not, we will be the the man that built his house on the earth, with no strong foundation, easily swayed, and when adversity comes, thing fall apart.
Application:
The words " Word, Worship, and Relationship" come to mind. I need to be in the word everyday. Worship God in all I do. Build a relationship with Him. Wanting more of God in my life will help me to continue to build a strong foundation.
Prayer:
Lord, many times I have been on shaky ground, and You have been there to keep me from falling because You love me, which at first I had no understanding of. But because of Your promise, and because I hunger to have more of You, I am building my faith and longing to live a life filled with Your love. I love You. Thank You for Your Son and Your love. Amen
Love it, Marie. You are so right-on! Hope you're having a good time with your fam!
