Scripture:
Acts 12:11 Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a doubt that the Lord sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and from everything the Jewish people were anticipating."
Observation:
In this chapter, we read about Peter who has a miraculous escape from prison. Herod, who imprisoned Peter, was going to kill Peter. But an angel, sent by God, helped Peter escape from the prison. This was no easy escape as Peter was locked up in chains, had to get by four guards, and bypass a locked gate. All of these things were done without intervention from anyone or any earthly thing, and Peter was able to leave with no one knowing. There is no reason for these things to happen other than God intervening and showing His awesome power.
Application:
Experiences with the Lord strengthen our faith in Him. There have been many times in my life where I know the Lord has acted on my behalf, and for no "particular" reason, my prayer was answered or something miraculous has happened beyond my expectation. He continues to show His love for me. What an awesome God I serve.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I love You so much and am so thankful for Your love for me. I know that You continue to have blessings for me; and at times even though I may not recognize them, You continue to prove your love and faith in me. I pray that I may be a faithful servant, and one day I may be able to bow down at Your feet and tell You how much I love You. I pray that You give me the chance to share my experience with those who may not know You, and that I can lead them to You. You are an awesome God and I give You all the glory. - Amen.
Isn't it GREAT when the Lord works on our behalf?? Great blog post Chris...really enjoyed it.
