Scripture:

Acts 4:24 "When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God...."

Observation:

Peter and John have just been released from prison again for preaching about Jesus. They take the news of their experience back to their fellow apostles and praise God for their persecution as well as pray for boldness and favor.

Application:

Being a Christian is not always easy. I need to be able to take the bad with the good, praising God for all the blessings when times are good and praising God for all the blessings when times are bad. When things are going rocky for me, the one thing that keeps me going is knowing that if I am going through fire, I must be doing something right for God. Why else would Satan want to ruin my day and bring me down? So, I should rejoice when things are going rough because that probably means that I am doing what God would have me do.

Prayer:

Jesus, I praise You for having faith and mercy on me. It is Your love that keeps me going. In trials of fire God, I pray that I can stand boldly for You and meditate on what You have done for me. My trials are well worth the heartache if they mean that I get to be with You forever. Father, You calm my heart and mind and cover me with Your love. I praise You, Jesus. I look forward to when I get to walk with You forever. I love You.

    Maddy, your blog was great, but the part I especially liked was your prayer--so heartfelt, sincere, and TRUE. Someday...with HIM forever. It will be worth it all.
