Scripture:
Matt. 13:10-13 His disciples came and asked him, "why do you always tell stories when you talk to the people?"11 Then he explained to them, "you have been permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others have not. 12 To those who are open to my teaching more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But to those who are not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I tell these stories, because people see what I do, but they don't really see. They hear what I say but they really don't hear, and they don't understand.
Observation:
Jesus gave His discples the right to understand the secrets of God's Kingdom. For everyone else, they, we, needed to pay attention, grasp, and want to understand. Two thousand years ago, they had Jesus, the written Word in audible and visible form. Now we have Jesus in the written Word and audible when He speaks to our heart.
Application:
Although I don't have Jesus here to look at, I have His written Word and His voice in my heart. If I accept what He speaks to me, the secrets of God's Kingdom are revealed, and I can then share and convince my brothers and sisters to come and see.
Prayer:
I pray, Lord, not only for the secrets of Your Kingdom, but an overwhelming desire to share, teach and convince the lost and least the secrets of Your Kingdom. Thank You, my Lord. I love You. Amen!
