Scripture:

Job 25: 1.Bildad replied…2.Dominion and awe belong to God… 3.upon whom does his light not rise? 4.How then can a man be righteous before God…pure? 6.How much less man…who is only a worm.

Observation:

Bildad is frustrated and fed up with Job. He begins his tirade with a bit of kindness and truth, but then goes sideways with words spoken in condemnation. Why? Because Job refuses to give into his flesh (and unknowingly) the attacks of Satan. He fears God. He holds fast to what he believes God has said about him and to what God has called him to be. He has that kind of relationship with God and has a deep understanding that he is righteous and pure because of and before God, that somehow God will still be there in the end.

Application:

I’m sure Bildad thought he was doing the right thing. Some of the things he said were right on, but his self-righteousness showed up in a hurry. Where was the grace? Mercy? Compassion?
V2.Dominion and awe belong to God… 3.His light rises upon you, Job. 4.Thru Him you are made righteous…He has made you pure. 5.God created the sun, moon, and stars. 6.He created you, Job. He loves you. He cares for you!
I know for sure that Job would have loved to have heard those things from his friends and benefited from them. But when God allowed Satan access to Job, Satan also used Jobs friends to attack him.
This is something none of us would purposely do, but when we get our eyes off of Jesus and on each other's problems rather than the awe of God, this can easily happen. We have to always be on guard.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to always be on guard with a watchful spirit and a yielding heart that I will led by Your Holy Spirit. I thank You that You love me like You loved Job, but in all honesty I am a bit fearful that I would not be able to stand the test. I know that You are with me. For that I am grateful. Amen
