Scripture:
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Observation:
I counted 28 times that the word "faith" is used in this chapter. No wonder it's nicknamed the "faith chapter." It can't get much clearer than this--you can't please God without faith; you have to believe that He exists and that He rewards people who seek Him.
Application:
I think about people who are ignorant of who God really is--a personal, intimate, in-your-life God. So many people who say they believe in God only see Him as some big entity who is somewhere out there in space, rarely having anything to do with us personally. But I have to believe that when someone really believes in Him and that He exists, you do something about it--you find out more about Him, who He is, what He wants, how He operates. That's faith.
Prayer:
Father, I know You exist. Help me to help others know You. You are so much more than they can imagine. Help me to point people to You, the real You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
