Scripture:
Genesis 12:1-3: “Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father's house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’”
Observation:
God called Abraham to leave His comfort zone and follow after Him. Abraham was able to secure a blessing for his family and every family on earth based upon his choice to follow God. Often in life we are faced with difficult choices. One of the hardest choices is the choice between giving up what is good for God's best!
Application:
This year I want to challenge myself! How far am I willing to go with God? Am I willing to forsake the "comfortable" things and choose to be obedient to God's direction in my life? Following God wholeheartedly is not a "risky" decision! The only thing that is "risky" is thinking that I know better than God, the direction that my life should go!
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for giving me another chance today to follow after You! Amen.
