Scripture:

Exodus 6:9-12 9 Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor. 10 Then the LORD said to Moses, 11 “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.” 12 But Moses said to the LORD, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips?”

Observation:

In these scriptures Moses is trying to tell the Israelites that God will bring them out of this situation as He has promised, but they do not have much faith left because Pharaoh only made things harder on them the last time Moses went to him. Moses is somewhat discouraged as well. But God is faithful, and as we read on we see that God does as He has promised and He brings them out of Egypt.

Application:

Sometimes a situation can seem overwhelming and that we are all alone. This is the time we need God more then ever. (Is He with me? Has He left me?) I tend to go there more than not when times get tough. But God is faithful and always near. This is when I need to dig in deep and hang on to my faith.

Prayer:

I am thankful You are my God, faithful and true, even when I am not. I pray to be more like Moses when things seem impossible and too much to bear. Thank You for Your strong hands and loving arms. Amen

  1. This reminds me of something I just read in a book...I worry about things, which doesn't show a lot of faith, but God Himself is even more concerned than I am about those things (when they pertain to people's lives). Dear God, help me to remember that!
