Scripture:
Luke 13:7-9 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?' 8 " 'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.' "
Observation:
These verses of scripture talk of people who know the ways of God, but are not living their lives for the ways of God. They are just living a life that doesn’t produce fruit for the glory of God.
Application:
Thankfully, though, we can all be made fruitful by the salvation of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We can take the grace and mercy that Jesus gives us and go forth and spread the good news, share the fruit of God’s love to our community, family, and friends.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I pray that You will always shower me with Your love, kindness and strength so that I can grow in You and will be able to bear fruit for Your kingdom. Amen
