Scripture:
Luke 7:36-38,50 36 Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat. 37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. 50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
Observation:
This woman, knowing that she was a sinner, humbled herself and knelt at Jesus's feet with faith that her sins were forgiven. She gave what she had.
Application:
I am this woman. I'm a sinner...I'm broken and weak...but my FATHER is not. It's not about those around me, it's not about how I look in front of others...it's about me and my Father. His concern is for me and my relationship with HIM. I am HIS and He is MINE. I'll do whatever I have to do to please Him.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for holding me up in my times of weakness. I know I'm broken, but You're the only one that can fix it. Please help me to remember that it is ALL ABOUT YOU.
I cry almost every time I read or hear this story. So beautiful. You are so right-on in your blog, Misty. It's all about HIM.
