Scripture:

Acts 9:8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

Observation:

Paul went three days without eating, drinking, or seeing anything. Jesus wrecked Paul's concept of reality in such a way that Paul was incompetent for three days. That is a lot of introspection.

Application:

God has to wreck my reality sometimes to show me that I am heading down the wrong path. I think that it is God's mercy that He is not as blunt as Paul's conversion. I think that I would end up an invalid if He wrecked me in the same way. Sometimes I perceive God's more merciful approach as chaos and get anxious. It would be better to thank the Lord for His mercy and ask Him to direct the changes He wants in me.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your mercy on me. I give You my life to change. Help me to remember Your promises and Your Lordship.

  1. Okay, okay already! "...I perceive God's more merciful approach as chaos and get anxious."?? Really? How convicted can I possibly get? Thanks for making me think, Guy!
