Annica J. - March 29, 2011 Scripture: Judges 6:12 The angel of the Lord appeared to (Gideon) and said, "Mighty hero, the Lord is with you." Observation: After seven years of oppression from their enemies, Israel cried out to God for help. An angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, who was least in his family and from the weakest tribe. The very first thing the angel said to Gideon was to call him a mighty hero. I believe the angel was speaking those words into him, and he was changed immediately. God didn't work through the strongest man or most spiritual; He used the humble and weak so that all glory would be given to Him. Application: So many times I hold back from doing things for God because I feel like I'm nobody, with no power or spiritual strength. But God has called me because of my humility and weakness and wants to use me for His glory. I shouldn't only not judge others, but I shouldn't judge myself because it's His power that wins the battles and heals the sick. All I need to do is be humble and obedient and allow God to be glorified through me. Prayer: Lord, help me not to listen to self doubt and question the "mighty hero" that You called me to be. Through my weakness You are glorified; help me not to get in the way of the awesome things You want to do through me. Help me to be obedient and humble so that You can win wars through me.
