Sheila W. - March 30, 2011 Scripture: 1 Cor. 15:49 And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven. Observation: Paul is giving a comparison/contrast between Adam and Jesus. Adam was the "1st Adam," Jesus was the "2nd Adam." Adam brought sin into our lives; Jesus can take it out. Through Adam, we're born in the flesh; through Jesus, we're born in the Spirit. This verse says that we HAVE carried the image of an earthly man, but we're GOING to bear the image of Jesus. Application: I love this!! Wahoo!!! Thank You, Jesus, that You care enough about me to make me be like You. That's seems unbelievable. You not only give Your life and conquer death, hell, and the grave, but You keep working with me to make me into Your image. It doesn't get any better than that. Prayer: Father, thank You, thank You, thank You for you love for me. I WANT to be more like You; do whatever it takes to bring the dross to the top so you can scrape it off! Purify me, cleanse me, mold me into the image of Your beautiful Son. In Jesus' name I ask this. Amen.
