Scripture:

Psalm 34:4-8 & 13-16 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. 6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. 13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. 14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, 16 but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.

Observation:

When you look to God for help and seek Him in times of trouble, He is there for you. What I get from what David wrote is when you turn to God and ask for forgiveness, the shame from the past withdraws from you. A new look, God's peace is within, and He sends His angel to keep watch. From there you can feel the goodness of God, and seek Him always. Always be alert of what you say and turn from evil. God will protect us from the evildoers and help us to forget them.

Application:

As a Christian, I will do all that I can to keep from lying, turning from evil and not letting the ways of this world influence my belief in my God. If I stay in the Shadow of my God, pray for forgiveness always, and turn my back to evil, God will take the memory of those who are evil from me, as long as I seek refuge in Him.

Prayer:

Lord, I am so thankful that You alone are my Father, and my refuge. Help me daily to keep my back to evil and my heart and mind to You, my God. Keep the memory of evil from me and the Light of You with me everyday. Thank You, Father. Amen
