Scripture:

Matthew 15:27-28 “Yes Lord,” she said, “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ tables.” Then Jesus answered, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Observation:

This speaks to me in two ways. One is that we have to have faith enough and be bold enough to ask for God’s blessings and/or healings, and the other is because of that faith, God’s infinite love is given to us. I love the simple statement – “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” It pretty much sums up the whole Kingdom of God.

Application:

This woman persists! She is determined – and bold – to request healing for her daughter. Jesus seems to be discouraging her, but is testing her faith. She persists! And she is rewarded for her faithfulness. How weak is my faith sometimes – that I do not even trust.

Prayer:

O Lord, strengthen me. Let me be as this woman, faith unbounded, persistent and trusting that You are God, that You know and provide for all. Help me to grow in Your love. Thank You, Lord, for Your infinite love.
