Scripture:
Psalm 136:26 Oh give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.
Observation:
The Psalmist is happy and giving thanks to God.
Application:
Reading through the chapter at all of the amazing things God did for the Israelites, I look back on my own life so far, and see that I have so many praises to sing myself. He has been merciful to me. Every trial is not wasted, for nothing. It has been an opportunity to grow in Christ. God wants a thankful heart, and I need to remember His faithfulness to me and thank Him for it.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank You and praise You for who You are: the God of all things. You care for me and want what is best. I look to You, Lord, for my protection, provision, and guidance. Help me to remember that before my feet hit the floor in the morning and before I close my eyes to sleep. Thank You, Lord, for the peace You give me. You are my Rock. I love You and thank You for loving me. Amen.
