Scripture:

1 Chronicles 22:9 &10 Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.

Observation:

God was giving promise and encouragement to David in his last years. David would not be allowed to fulfill his desire to build a house for the Lord. Not only would God allow his son to build it, but He would establish his kingdom as a kingdom of peace and continue his throne forever.

Application:

This scripture is full of great stuff, but what stood out to me is the example of how great God's redemption is. Solomon was the son of Bathsheba. David had committed adultery with her and murdered her husband and here was their son receiving the one of the greatest promises and blessings of all the kings of Israel. He would build the temple of Yahweh and be one of greatest and most prosperous kings in all the history of Israel. God WILL be glorified.

Prayer:

Lord, be glorified. Be lifted up and show Yourself strong. Show to us and the world the great things Your redemption can accomplish. Amen
