Scripture:

1 Chronicles 25:5-6 All these were the sons of Heman the King’s seer, according to the promise of God to exalt him, for God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. They were all under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres for the service of the house of God.

Observation:

Chapter 25 could be one of those that I skim through quickly because of all the hard to pronounce names and it seems to have no relevance to my life today. But as I read I began to ponder and be amazed at the lists of family members that were all serving in the house of the Lord together. In these verses it tells how God had blessed Heman with many children and that they all followed their father’s leadership and example and served as worshipers in the house of the Lord with him.

Application:

All I can hope for in my family is that Kevin and I create such an atmosphere of Jesus that our children will want to follow in the faith serving God. How beautiful to serve God together as a family. I want to leave a rich heritage that passes onto my children, grandchildren and so on, that we would one day be able to stand together in service to Jesus!

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for blessing Kevin and I with these wonderful children. Continue to fill us with all we need to show them You and train them rightly. Touch their lives with a real encounter with You! That our faith would be theirs and we would serve together in the destiny You have for us. Amen
