Scripture:
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Observation:
Jesus kept His promise to rise from the dead and the disciples are amazed at this sight and one even doubted that it was Him. Jesus knew that the disciples would disband after His crucifixion and that is why He had to gather them together so that He could restore their faith and encourage them by giving them their great commission.
Application:
Does Jesus’s great commission apply to us as Christians today? I believe it should apply just as strongly as it did to the disciples. Let us be encouraged by Jesus’s commands. We can change our community, our nation, our world if our faith and desire is as strong as the disciples were.
Prayer:
Jesus, we want to be Your disciples in our world that we live in today. We know that You are with us always and that with Your strength we can spread Your message to the nations. Amen
