Scripture:
Ecclesiastes 5:2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
Observation:
Though He is Father and Friend, God is still God and should be approached with respect.
Application:
God deeply desires deep relationship with me. He wants me to share my hopes, fears and praises with Him. However, my prayer life and personal relationship should not be off the cuff and taken for granted. I need to value it above all else. How many before me did not have the blessing of knowing Almighty God? My communication with Him should be weighed with introspection and reverence.
Prayer:
Almighty King, I rejoice that You have blessed me with friendship. Cause me to value You above all else.
