Scripture:
Colossians 4:2-4 2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.
Observation:
Paul is closing out his letter the church in Colosse. He is giving them important instructions in a really clear, concise format: do this, do that,...Three time in three verses he mentions "prayer."
Application:
God, You've been dealing with me more than ever before in my life about prayer. Everywhere I turn, I read or hear something about prayer. Thank You for showing me the importance of this discipline. Thank You for giving me the opportunity to pray. You are the great Teacher, and You are teaching me new things about prayer everyday. Thank You.
Prayer:
Father, help me to understand the things that You're trying to show me about prayer. Thank You for caring enough to even try to teach me. I want to grow in You, and I welcome any and all instruction You have for me. Help me to focus on You and to take the time I need to take to be alone with You. I love You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
