Scripture:

2 Timothy 4:2 I give you this charge. Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage-with great patience and careful instruction.

Observation:

Paul is imprisoned, knowing he is near the end of his life, and in this letter to Timothy, he gives his last instructions to him. Preach the Word! Correct! Rebuke! Encourage! As Paul nears the end of his life, his imploring instructions to Timothy (and all of us) take on an importance and urgency.

Application:

Am I ready, "in season and out" to preach, talk and conduct myself as representing Christ - not just when it is convenient, but especially when it is inconvenient? And, when I do, are they words and actions of encouragement, and done with deliberation and careful thought?

Prayer:

Lord, May I be a "ready" Christian, ready to spread your Word to those I meet, see, those who see my actions. Help me to burn bright for You. For Your glory, I am Yours. Amen
