Scripture:

Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

Observation:

Earlier in Romans 12 it says, “offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Application:

It is not always easy for me to trust in God’s justice instead of my own version of justice. It is hard to watch evil things carry on for a long time seemingly unscathed; however, it is clear that I must understand that my version of justice is most often the world’s version of justice. I need to allow God to renew and transform my mind to look to Him and not the world.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your Word and the guidance that You give me through it. Give me an abundance of faith that I may be able to more easily trust in You, and see the correctness in Your ways.

    That "world view" is something we all commonly fight. Being renewed is the only answer--you were right on. His Word has to be hidden in our hearts so we can pull that out of our arsenal when we're faced with decisions...like taking justice into our own hands. :) Sheila
