Scripture:

1 Peter 2: 9-10 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Observation:

These scriptures speak volumes to who I am in Christ. They describe a portion of my identity.

Application:

I am reminded that I am a royal priesthood. I do not have to "fall" to the temptations of the dark side. I do not have to agree with the lies of the enemy because I do not wear his colors on the field! I am God's special possession and do declare the praises of Him who called me way out of the darkness. At that point I was in His wonderful light! This scripture is just a reminder of exactly who I am and who I get to live up to be and who I should be walking like. I should walk with my head held up in victory over the very one who wants to destroy, and schemes to do so. I should smile proud of the joy that flows deep within my soul. I should look deeply into the eyes of those that do not know Him and allow them to see my great love for my King. I should pray as though it is. I should bow and humble myself for the mercy He pours out to me. I should continually keep my thoughts pure and my tongue tamed as though He is walking in front of me creating the footsteps in the sand. I am a royal priesthood, I am a holy nation, I am God's special possession and I am a chosen people!

Prayer:

What an honor, Lord. What a truly, magnificent honor. I am blessed beyond measure, and yet I still get blessed even more by reading what I am to You, Lord. I am so thankful that You, the Creator of the Universe, thinks of me as His chosen. To be chosen...what a humbling honor. I love You, Lord. I declare Your praises. Thank You again, Lord, for pouring out Your mercy onto me. I love You, Lord. Amen.
