Scripture:

1 Peter 3:18 for Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.

Observation:

Christ suffered and died on the cross and rose from the dead for us, even though we did not deserve such a sacrifice. He did it because He loved us and He wanted us to be with Him.

Application:

Suffering is a part of being a Christian. But, am I going to suffer in my flesh, as I often do? Or do I follow the example of Christ and let the Spirit live in me and through me? I have to remind myself several times a day that this life I’m living is not mine. I want to love Him back by living by His example so His work may be accomplished.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the sacrifice You paid on the cross for me. I can never repay You for what You’ve done. I want to serve You with all my heart, Lord. "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve," help me to do that because I can’t do it on my own. Thank You for the grace and mercy You’ve given me. Amen.
