Scripture:
Isaiah 49:8-9 This is what the Lord says: "In the time of My favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, 9 to say to the captives, ' Come to,' and to those in darkness 'Be free!'
Observation:
God is speaking to His chosen people of Israel, the ones that He has delivered and blessed so many times, reminding them not to give up hope or to turn away because He hasn't turned away or forgotten them. He tells them of His plans and blessing that He wants to pour out over them if they continue to endure for Him.
Application:
This sounds a lot like modern day to me. God blesses and graces us so many times and it often goes unnoticed. Or when we do notice and give God the praise and glory, about two days later we're worried about something else. I think that sometimes we underestimate God and think that our wants, needs, or desires are too big for Him to carry. But He is telling us that if we walk in His salvation we are in His favor! He wants to bless us and take care of us. All that He is asking for is our commitment and love. I can be free from worry, praise God!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for caring for me. Thank You for blessing me even though I don't notice sometimes. Help me to be more sensitive to Your blessings and grace so that I may praise You and give You the glory. May I be attentive to Your voice and follow it wherever it may call me. Increase my faith and love for You. You are my everything. Amen.
