Scripture:
1 John 3:11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
Observation:
As I read this I just was deeply reminded that its been this way since the beginning of time! Love...love...and more love. We are to love one another and keep loving one another. It doesnt stop. Its not a "stopping" love, its a never ending love. Since the beginning of time its been the message. It says it right here!
Application:
So how can I love others? This was perfect because as I washed each car, smiled and coaxed each car into the line, explained what we were doing and why....I was so blessed by men and women not understanding the "no money" idea of the 100% free car wash we were putting on. They wanted to give Pepsi, ice cream or just flat out money. We wouldn't let them. Why? Because we just love them. We love them before even knowing them. We love them because we "get to" love them not because we "have to" love them. The focus of the church right now sums it up: Love God, Love Others and Live It Out. This scripture matches perfectly.
Prayer:
Father, You are so awesome and wonderful. You made love in the beginning and we get to just carry that out. Help me, Father, to love others as your Word tells me to. Show me, Lord, and change me from deep within to truly have a heart of love and not judgment or expectations. I desire to just love each one as You do. I appreciate the love that You have for me. I am Your child and You call me by name. This should be shown to others by me. I should love them and call them by name, respectfully. I love You, Lord. Amen
