Scripture:

2 John 1:5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
2 John 1:12 I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.

Observation:

2 John is a very short book. John says that he has a lot to say, so what he includes in the letter must have been of utmost importance. A paragraph in a short letter is dedicated to love being shared in the body of
Christ.

Application:

Division between me and a brother divides the body of Christ. By the same token, when love is shared between us, it unifies the body and brings glory to Christ. If by grace I am able to let things slide, it shows the work of the Father in me to the world. This is can be even more true when I serve those around me out of love.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for the gift of grace and mercy that You have given. Let Your grace and mercy flow through me to testify to Your greatness.
