Scripture:

Ezekiel 34:21-22 "Because you shove with flank and shoulder, batting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away, I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and the other."

Observation:

Even though the Lord loves us and protects us because we are His sheep, it does not give us a place of judgement and cruelty amongst ourselves.

Application:

As a flock, we are family. We are to love and protect one another just as we do our loved ones at home. No one gets left behind, no one is too small. Part of God's commitment to us is the duty we have to one another. Yes, He will protect us and provide for us, but He does that THROUGH us. Protect each other. Look out for one another. Lift up your flock in prayer and everyday life. Encourage each sheep you encounter. Even if that sheep doesn't drink from the same watering hole or sleep under the same shady tree, every human being is a lamb of God. We just need to bring our flock closer together and therefore closer to Him.
Love an unfamiliar sheep today. And if they ask why you helped them, tell them your Shepherd sent you. And then, tell no one else.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, As I venture out to pasture today, looking for a lost sheep to be loved, please give me your eyes so that I may do for You. If it's something as little as saying a kind word or as big as taking a sparrow back to the nest, give me the strength and understanding that I am doing Your will. Guide me in my heart today, Lord. Be on the tip of my tongue, so that I may tell of Your love and kindness. I can do this! And if I should talk myself down, remind me I was once a lost sheep of Yours, too. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
