Scripture:

Job 19:25 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

Observation:

In this chapter, Job is totally demoaning his existence. It's awful: he's repulsive to his own family, his wife doesn't want to be around him, street urchins despise him and jeer at him, his closest loved ones reject him. He's angry at God (v. 6) and he's spewing it all at his so-called friends. Yet these verses near the end of the chapter is Job's hope being called out.

Application:

These verses are powerful! They remind me of the Crystal Lewis song...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P6CeGL_Igs&feature=related. Almighty God, to stand with You in the end, to see Your face to face. Everything will be worth it. Anything is worth it.

Prayer:

Father God, help me to keep laying my life down before You. I want to do Your will without complaining or whimping out. Break my will completely that I may follow only Yours. I surrender...yes, yes, yes. Over and over again I will say "yes" to You. I love You, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
