Scripture:

Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ , and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

Observation:

I had to get provisions for camping this last weekend--sleeping bags, wood, food, and s'more building materials-- necessities to keep us alive. I wonder now how much time I spend in providing for my flesh. Am I nourishing the lusts that my flesh has by flirting with sinful things? Do I ever see how close I can get to sin without really embracing it?

Application:

I see the need even more now to make sure I am feeding the Spirit of God within me, making Him stronger in my life. Whatever I give nourishment to will eventually rule.

Prayer:

God, strengthen me as I strengthen Your Spirit within me. I desire to hear Your words direct me, my actions to be a reflection of You to the people around me. Lead me not into temptation; deliver me from evil. Amen
